Our History
Paradise Custom Kitchens was established in 1986 by Ruth Doutrich and Leslie Rickenbach. Ruth was the founder and CEO of Doutrich Homes [Est. 1962], a renowned custom home building company in the Lancaster and Chester County areas. She saw a need in the local market for a custom kitchen manufacturer that aligned with her core values and dedication to quality. As a result, Paradise Custom Kitchens was established.
PCK started in the home of Tim Doutrich, Ruth’s youngest son, with the showroom located in his kitchen. Upon his graduation from Shippensburg University with a degree in Business Management, Tim started his career at PCK as a kitchen designer. The current showroom was built in 1987 to accommodate PCK, and Doutrich Homes moved to the same building shortly thereafter. There have been 9 additions to the building since PCK’s inception to accommodate the growth of the company, including the addition of our 13,000 sqft cabinet shop, located right behind our showroom.
Tim Doutrich is now CEO and President of the company, continuing to cultivate the company’s long-honored traditions of stellar service and quality craftsmanship. Many of the current employees here at PCK have been with the company for 20+ years and some have been with the company since its inception. Here at PCK, we are like a family – and our greatest passion is to work with your family to transform your home into one that will be enjoyed for generations to come.

Meet our Team

Mike Katz, CKD
Mike is a Certified Kitchen Designer and has been designing kitchens for over 40 years. He has experience in wholesale, retail, and the manufacturing of custom cabinetry. Mike owned and operated his own custom kitchen business for 8 years, where he designed and sold custom kitchens to a discerning clientele. Mike also worked in sales as a kitchen designer for Home Depot for 22 years. Mike’s favorite design style is “traditional,” but he enjoys incorporating fun, modern amenities in his kitchens such as his signature hidden message center. He is a member of the Masons and enjoys being the President of the Shrine of Clowns, which is a volunteer organization that is very active in parades, charity benefits, and festivals.

Mike McCullough
Mike has over 40 years experience designing kitchens and baths and is one of the founding members of Paradise Custom Kitchens. Mike thrives on the level of detail that he incorporates into his designs and loves designing cabinetry that integrates into a space as though it has always been there. Mike does not have a favorite design style, but rather has the knowledge and expertise to work with all visions and styles, from the clean lines of modern design to the visual details found in traditional design. Hand-drawn renderings are Mike’s forte, which allow him to really delve into each design and to understand and address each intimate detail. Mike also taught NKBA test prep courses to aspiring designers pursuing their CKD certification, which allowed him to bestow his passion and skillset to the next generation of designers.

Stacy Nass
Stacy graduated from Boston University where she majored in English Literature, but found a passion for design later in life. She has been in the design industry for 10 years in various capacities. She started in project management then found her true passion in design and selections. Stacy started with Paradise Custom Kitchens in 2020 and has been designing kitchens and assisting clients with design selections, ensuring a smooth and worry-free process from start to finish. Stacy’s favorite design style is “transitional” and she loves incorporating a stunning, show-stopper backsplash in her kitchen designs. When she’s not creating beautiful spaces for her clients, Stacy enjoys hiking with her dogs and raising chickens.

Tim Doutrich, CKD, CAPS
Tim started his career in kitchen design in 1986 when his mother, Ruth Doutrich, established Paradise Custom Kitchens. He attended Shippensburg University for business management and began designing kitchens upon his graduation. Tim is a Certified Kitchen Designer and Certified Aging-In-Place Specialist, specialties that inform the practicality and function of all his designs, including the accommodations of special needs. Tim’s favorite design detail to incorporate into kitchens is the flush window sill, where the countertop extends into the window. He believes doing so creates a brighter, more open aesthetic and is likewise a practical feature, providing additional countertop space. When he's not designing and being the greatest CEO, Tim enjoys hunting and spending time outdoors.

Brandy Bieler
Brandy has been in the industry for over 30 years, with 17 years of retail experience in selling kitchens and 15 years in kitchen design. Brandy loves the creative process of kitchen design and always loves a good design challenge. She particularly enjoys working with difficult spaces and designing a kitchen that is both useful and aesthetically pleasing for her clients. Her favorite design elements are storage-oriented, such as the incorporation of spice cabinets and easy reach wall cabinets, which demonstrate her attention to the practical and functional details of kitchen design. Even though Brandy found her life’s calling in the world of design, she says that if she were to attend college, she would pursue a degree in Ichthyology – the study of finned fish and crustaceans.

Greta Moyer
Greta was introduced to woodworking and cabinetry design by her father and her interest quickly grew into a passion. She decided to transition from teaching English to high schoolers to entrepreneurship and start a business with her husband, where together they designed and built custom furniture and cabinetry for discerning clients and designers in the Main Line/Philadelphia area. After 7 years of owning and operating her business, she decided to pursue a career as a kitchen and bath designer, which is what led her to PCK. Greta’s background in furniture and cabinetry design, manufacturing, and installation informs the practicality of her designs and fuels her creativity. Greta’s favorite design style is “transitional,” but she loves designing in every style and working with local artisans to incorporate one-of-a-kind, wow-factor elements into her designs. When she's not designing beautiful spaces, Greta enjoys going on cruises with her husband, cooking, gardening, and antiquing.

Bernie Stemplinger
Bernie has been in the woodworking and design industry for nearly 50 years. His love of woodworking started at the young age of 18 when he began an apprenticeship under a skilled German craftsman. Through this experience, he mastered the skills of pattern making, woodcarving, and carpentry. Bernie continued to pursue careers throughout his life that involved woodworking and design in some form, ranging from crafting custom furniture to designing and building custom kitchens and homes. Bernie’s favorite design styles are “traditional” and “Arts and Crafts” and, being a furniture maker at heart, enjoys incorporating furniture-inspired focal pieces into his kitchen designs, whether it is an island, hutch, or pantry cabinet. When he's not designing, Bernie enjoys spending time in the mountains, hunting, and shooting sporting clays.
